Stories of Honour Amongst Police Misconduct

Sgt Atkins

Currently awaiting a directions hearing for a crime he never committed, for acting on domestic abuse and supporting neurodiverse victims. Unfortunately, an old Chief Superintendent is the co-founder of my ex's uncle's business and is still heavily linked to the police. Sgt Atkins was accused and arrested 3 weeks after my ex, who was abusing me and my children, had been arrested. Despite 9 months passing since the Sergeant's arrest, information continued to be leaked to my ex-partner, and, unsurprisingly, the abuse continued. I will update the story after court with a PowerPoint about events prior to meeting him.

Sgt Treetop

Sgt Treetop, the fifth officer entrusted with addressing the complaints regarding PC Rolls' failings, exemplifies unparalleled integrity and dedication. Despite witnessing the failings of others, the Professional Standards Department informed him that the complaint against PC Rolls would remain internal.
Given the department's previous attempt to scapegoat the delay in handling the complaint with factual inaccuracies regarding Sgt Atkins not informing an inspector, it seemed clear that despite the evidence, the complaint would go no further due to the ongoing witch-hunt against Sgt Atkins.

Although he did not verbalise his thoughts and had to deliver the bad news, Sgt Treetop demonstrated empathy, understanding, and professionalism. His unwavering commitment to justice and transparency was reminiscent of Sgt Atkins. I worry he won't fit in among the corrupt.

Meeting Sgt Treetop in my work office and discussing the complaint from a fresh was an invaluable experience, as it gave me a touch of hope, hearing his reasons for joining the police and Coming from a generation that joined the police force to protect and serve the public, Sgt Treetop embodies the core values of the police force that I had previously respected for over three decades. His actions and manner uphold the actual attributes of what the police service should stand for, in stark contrast to some of his contemporaries.
I hope his dedication to doing what is right does not make him a target for those he is surrounded by.

DC Jackie

In this poignant blog post, the author shares their harrowing journey of reliving abuse while recounting their story to 19 different police officers over 12 months. This account highlights the profound impact of police misconduct and the resilience required to navigate such challenges. It underscores the need for accountability and genuine care within the system to support victims of abuse effectively.

Due to her current status and the situation surrounding it, I can't write what I would like to about this officer, but one day this section will explain who she is and the reasons she made such a difference. Until then, here is a blog that I wrote when she was stopped from showing humanity and prevented from doing right by victims and acting on corruption within the force.
